About - Casino Slots
Casino slots are also known as slot machines, poker machines or just plain old slots that are located in a casino. Slots are the most popular gaming method in casinos, and just less than 70% of the money made in a casino is created through these games. Slots are also a massive source if income for the online casinos, alot of online slots have a theme and have teamed up with well known brands such as Lara Croft - Tomb Raider, Wheel Of Fortune, Transformers and Monopoly. Slot machines have 3 or more wheels inside that spin when the player pushes a button. Slots have a currency detector inside that determines the money or coins that a player places inside for payment to play. The machine will pay a prize based on the symbols or patterns on the front of the machine when the wheels stop spinning.
To play slots, a player has to purchase the right to play by inserting bills, coins or casino currency into the slot. The player then operates the machine by pressing a button or pulling a lever or even on a touch screen on some newer models. The slots game operates on no skill on the player’s part, but simply on chance. The object of the game is to have all the faces of the wheels line up with the same picture or symbol on all faces to win a prize. The most popular images are those of dollar signs, fruit, letters or shapes like hearts and diamonds. Most all slots games have many combinations that result in prizes which are generally posted on the front of the machine for the player to see. The most popular type of slots are video poker machines that allow a player to get a set of symbols that correspond to a high poker hand. The type of slots played will determine how many hands can be played at one time, but there are machines that offer up to 100 hands to be played at once.
Multiple line slots have more than one pay line, or line that includes the possibility of winning. For example, a multiple line slot could have horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines that each would pay out if a winning hand were drawn on the screen. The reel type of slots has either 3 or 5 pay lines and the average video slots have a minimum of 9 and can have as many as 100. Most video slots are themed, meaning they will have graphics or music from certain shows or movies, even specific entertainers like Elvis; and each of these normally includes a bonus round. The most common amount to play with per line is 1 credit per line, and the higher the bet is the higher the payout can be if the game is won.
There is a difference in payout between video slots and reel slots. In order to win the highest jackpot in reel slots, the player has to pay the maximum bet per spin. With video slots, there are specific payout values that are multiplied by the number of coins bet per line. Some casinos offer penny slots which only cost a penny per spin, while there are nickel, quarter and dollar slots as well.
