About - Keno
Keno is a game much like bingo that is commonly played at online casinos. The game of keno requires 80 numbered balls, which are drawn like bingo balls. A caller will call out numbers in traditional keno and then a verifier records the 20 numbers that are drawn. The computerized or online keno games figures all bets based on the numbers that are drawn.
Players will bet by putting or clicking an X on the spot choices available on a blank keno ticket on the screen that has boxes 1 through 80 available. Once all players have bet, the online casino will drawn 20 balls at random. Some online casinos will draw keno balls automatically at specific time frames regardless of the fact not all players have bet; therefore those that have not bet do not play. Every casino sets their own rules about pay scales or pay tables. Players are paid based on how many of their marked numbers on a card match those on a winning ticket according to a pay table and their specific bet amount. There are many variations of keno game pay tables that can be found through online casinos around the world. Each casino will also offer different pay tables as well as specialty bets for players to choose from, each that offers its own house edge. No two casino pay tables are the same, as there are many in Reno that offer up to 30 different pay tables that a player can opt to take part in. The house edge will vary from just under 4% up to 66%, but the typical edge for all casino games that are not slots being between zero and 5% total.
Keno payouts are based on the amount of numbers a player chooses as well as how many numbers are hit. Since a player chooses numbers prior to the balls being called, this is simply a game of chance and cannot have any type of strategy or skill. The numbers that are hit are multiplied by a percentage of the player’s bet, which is the highest payout. It is not odd to find a casino that pays up to $500 for a catch of no numbers out of 20 drawn for a ticket with an original $5 bet. All payouts are not the same, and will vary based on the casino played at. Most online casinos that offer keno will have a pay talbe wager between one and 20 numbers although many will limit the player’s choice to only 1-10 or 12 and 15 numbered spots.
The possibility of a player actually getting all 20 numbers on a ticket is very slim, as the odds are actually 1 in 3.5 quintillion. For a player to get one out of 20 numbers, odds are 1 in 86, and for two numbers to be hit the odds are one in twenty. To get 3 numbers hit, the odds are 1 in 8, and to get 4 numbers hit the odds are 1 in 4.
