Playing Blackjack Online
Blackjack is the most popular casino card game in the online casino industry, although the game originated in France. Blackjack is what is called a table game because it is played on a table instead of a machine in casinos. A player plays against the dealer in this game, and not with other players but simply one on one. The object of blackjack is to have a hand dealt to a player with 2 or more cards whose cards add up to 21 but not over this number. Any player that wins with blackjack, or a 2 card hand that is made up of a face card and an Ace, is paid average odds of 3 to 2, and all other winning hands are paid at even monies.
There are many variations of the game of blackjack such as Las Vegas strip, Single Deck and European blackjack. When playing any variation, it is best to know that all cards have a value except an Ace. The ace can be counted as a 1 or an 11, but a dealer has to count it as 11 if he or she has a card count of more than 17. The layout of the table is easy to remember, and is the same online as it is in casinos. This is a curved table where a dealer stands on one side and players line up on the other side. Players sit each at a betting square and are able to bet at this location only. The dealer begins at his or her left and deals one face down card and one face up card to each player. There can be up to 8 separate decks used in this game, so the same cards can be dealt to all players, if the chances are right. The cards are shuffled by the dealer, cut by a player and then dealt. Before any cards are laid out, every player has to place a bet that is at least the table’s minimum.
Whether in a casino in person or online, tables do have a betting minimum. There are high stakes tables that require £100 or £1,000 bets, while others allow £1 bets. The minimum bet allowed for the game you are playing will be based on the website you visit. Be sure to read through the FAQs and terms and conditions to know the requirements prior to playing at any online casino blackjack game.
The rules to play blackjack are easy to remember, as there are few. A player must hit 21 with all combined card numbers, but not go over. If the number of all your cards together is higher than 21, you are what is called bust, and have lost the hand. Since you play against a dealer, there are other opportunities you have to take advantage of the situation. Split pairs and double down are a few of these possibilities. If a player has his or her 2 cards and has less than 16, it is standard to hit or ask for another card. If this card is more than a 5, you are bust. But anything less than a 5 could win the hand based on the dealer’s cards.
