Baccarat History

The card game Baccarat was once the card game that is exclusive to the members of the elite and the aristocracy. The rules of the game are pretty simple. The aim is to score as near as possible to 9 by simply totaling the value of the cards that are dealt to each player and by taking for granted the left most digit of the total number. Casinos are particularly strict with how the Baccarat card game is played out; passing the deal from one player to another. 

American Baccarat

The rules of an online Baccarat game in the United Kingdom are pretty much the same as the rules of an offline United Kingdom Baccarat game. The main purpose of a Baccarat game is to place bets on the hand that is close to nine points in a hand that has two or three cards. 

Generally played with eight decks of cards at a casino, the bets of the players are placed in each new hand that is dealt. Each card has a corresponding value: ten is zero, the Jack is also zero as well as the Queen, and King Cards – all have zero value. Ace cards have a value of one; with cards two up to nine being dealt at its face value. 

There are two participants in the Baccarat game: The Banker and the Player. The banker doesn’t necessarily have to be someone who works in the casino. The banker is referred to as someone who has the most amount of money in the game. The game begins as soon as one person begins to call on the card dealer. One card is mixed and is kept on the table. The person is called the player and this should not be confused with the hand of the player. Another term to clarify is that the bank is not the casino. 

In the United Kingdom, online Baccarat rules apply to mini Baccarat tables as well as on the big Baccarat tables. Players place their bets either on the bank or on the hand of players. Later, each Baccarat player gets tow cards in his or her hand while the player on the other hand, can draw a third card. 

In the actual Baccarat and online Baccarat game in the United Kingdom, each card has a corresponding value that is up to ten. Face cards as previously mentioned have zero or no value. Aces, once again, may have a value of either one or ten depending n the rules or circumstances. A player who has cards that equal to nine after the distribution is called on as the winner of the game. Should a player’s cards all add up to ten, the last digit is the only number that is considered. The number on the leftmost side is disregarded. 

The Baccarat rules are specifically designed to make sure that both the player and the banker ‘s bets would receive equal amounts of money in return. Never the less, a banker bet that wins a round would need to pay out a five percent commission. In cases when a tie happens, the money to be paid out is computed to be eight times of the total bet amount. Keep in mind though, that most of the time, casinos actually hold the upper hand on all the other players in every game situation. 

There are also specific rules in the case that when a third card is drawn by a player. In the event that any of the players already hold two cards that add up to either eight or nine, there is no need to draw further a third card. This hand is then known to be called as a Natural hand, meaning the hand is over and a third card is no longer needed. However, the bank can or may draw a third card or even up to a fourth when the player’s third drawn card does not show a nine or an eight or a one or even a zero. A player can get a third card if the total of his two cards is equal or even less than five. 

In case that a player doesn’t draw a third card, the banker’s hand would stick on six or even higher. The banker hand would take a third card if his two cards add up to five or less than five. When a player gets a third card, the bank follows certain rules if he has a third card already.

If a bank’s total cards are two or less than two, the bank draws another card regardless of what the player’s third card is. If a bank has a total of three, the bank would have to draw another card except when a player has a third card that shows an eight. If a bank shows a total of four, he again draws a third card except when the player draws a third card that shows a zero, a one, an eight or a nine. If the bank shows a total of five, the bank would have to draw a third card but not when the player’s third card showed a four, a five, a six or a seven. And when the bank has a total of six, the bank would need to draw a third card if the player’s third card shows either a six or a seven. The bank stands though, if the bank shows a total of seven. 

All these rules are automatically programmed especially on online Baccarat card games, so there is no need to memorize all of it. Mistakes rarely happen and if it ever does, said mistake is quickly corrected.
