If the player raises, an amount equal to the original
wager is added to the bet and both the dealer and player receive three cards
face down, and another card face-up. The highest face-up card wins. In the
case of a win, player receives a win 2 times the amount wagered plus the
raise amount.
For example, a player’s wager (ante) is $5 and the player raises $5 and the
player’s card is higher than the dealer, the player would win two times the
amount of the wager (ante) and will win the raise amount, which is a total
$15. However, if the card is lower than that of the dealer, the player loses
the wager (in the case above, the player would lose $10, both the wager
(ante) and the raise). If after a war the player and the dealer have the
same card value, then the player wins.
Game Play
Prior to receiving any cards, the player must place a wager. Once the wager
is made, the player is dealt one card face up. The dealer is also dealt one
card face up. In the event there is a tie, and the player chooses to raise
(go to War), an amount equal to the wager is added to the bet. Then both the
dealer and the player are each dealt three cards face down. These cards are
known as “burn cards” and will remain face down. Following the burn cards,
both the dealer and the player are dealt a final card (face up). If the
player's final card either beats or ties the dealer's final card then the
player wins.
