Gambling on a Wedding

A British casino is the first venue in the country to be granted a licence to hold wedding and civil partnership ceremonies on their premises. Since the announcement interest has been high and it seems many couples are keen to take a gamble on their wedding.

Casinos are traditionally a hive of entertainment and activity, normally packed with things to do, gaming tables, slot machines and rows of shops and restaurants for visitors to occupy themselves with when they are not at the tables. By the granting of wedding licences, casinos are moving into a whole new realm. Casinos that have the ability to conduct the ceremony and the reception will be able to offer a quite unique experience for the happy couple.

Maxims Casino in West Cliff, is currently the place to go for a casino wedding, but it will only be a matter of time before other venues are able to offer the service. Although weddings have been traditionally popular in Las Vegas, they are not normally held in the actual casinos, making the British experience all the more novel.

To promote the occasion, Maxims has been offering engaged couples lottery tickets through the local newspaper and the winners will receive an all expenses paid wedding. Corporal Chris Verrall and his finance Emma Doman were the lucky winners and now can look forward to starting married life from an unusual setting before Chris returns to Afghanistan.
