Tuesday is the start of Everest Poker’s 3 Lander Poker Tour (3LT), which is being held at the Montesino Pokertainment Centre in Vienna. This is the final match of the year that uniquely incorporates the three German speaking countries of Europe, namely Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The event has already been held at the Grand Casino in Baden, Switzerland and the Spielbank Warnemunde in Germany. The event is a €2,000 buy-in Hold’em format and has a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000. The tournament is organised by Thomas Kremser and Alen Babic, whose skills are the perfect compliment to an ideal deep stack event with an eye-catching prize pool.

As the event’s familiarity spreads and popularity grows, more and more poker players are turning up to compete. Famous names on the VIP list so far include German footballer Sergej Barbarez and the Everest Dream Team pros Fabrice Soulier, Valetin Messina, Steven van Zadehoff, Cristiano Bianco and Maria Maceiras.

The 3 Lander Poker Tour runs from the 7th December to the 12th, offering a number of different events that are being held over the week, including a PLO freezeout and No Limit Hold’em events with buy-ins varying from €100 to €1,000. Poker players at the finale event have also been able to qualify via a series of satellite competitions, which is exactly how Robert Kleene from Germany reached the tables.
