Brits Continue to Shine at the Aussie Millions
British poker players have come to the forefront on the world stage over the last 12-months, and the Aussie Millions is continuing this trend. Earlier in the poker competition Sam Trickett and Tony Bloom went head to head in the £100k Challenge. Trickett has now come second in the record breaking high stakes $250,000 High Roller event on Thursday taking home $1.4 million.
Tricket once again came up against Eric Siedal in the Aussie Millions but unlike the previous encounter it was Siedal’s turn to take the honours.
Apart from his earlier success in Australia’s leading poker tournament, Trickett also claimed the main event in Macau this month for another $1 million in prize money. Fellow Brits Chris Moorman and James Keys are also flying the flag in the Aussie Millions main event and both have made it through to the final 18 poker players.
Chris Moorman made the headlines last week when the online poker specialist took an eleventh PocketFives Triple Crown, despite remaining behind somewhat on the live circuit. Moorman is currently sitting at the head of the leaderboard and may break his tournament duck.
James Keys is currently in the top half of the table holding eighth position with 880,000 chips and his performances down under haven’t gone unnoticed, as he’s signed a sponsorship deal with Red Kings Poker. Between the Brits and the title however there are still some experienced players in the remaining pack and with the likes of Randy Lew, Sorel Mizzi and Patrik Antonius the match is far from over.
