EPT Moves On In London

The London Hilton Metropole will see the next stage of PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) take place from the 29th September to the 4th October. Many of Europe’s poker elite has gathered in the capital for the recent poker tournament at the Empire in Leicester Square. 

This event will see the climax of the London poker festival that has provided an exciting spectacle for poker fans throughout the country. The London Hilton tournament will feature a wide selection of poker favourites including a £5,000 Main Event, a £20,000 high rollers match and plenty of sideshow action too. 

The Hilton will hold the 7th season of EPT events in London and hopes to break last year’s record attendance, when 730 registrants signed in for the main event, making it the largest poker event in Britain so far. Last year American Aaron Gustavson, who won his place in the main event through a online poker satellite tournament went head to head with WSOP champion Peter Eastgate. Gustavson was successful on that occasion taking home with him £850,000 in prize money. 

The poker glitterati last year included such names as PokerStar pros, Joe Mercer, Fabrice Soulier from France and William Thorson. Andreas Gulunay who featured heavily in the EPT4 finals and Ilari Tahkokallio the second place finalist in Berlin EPT6. 

Along with the main event and sideshows there are plans for two special charity events that it is hoped will raise £10,000 for cancer research. The £100 + £10 + £10 match will be an all comers event with pros and celebrities joining in. An exciting time for poker players from around the UK is guaranteed.
