This seasons Grosvenor UK Poker Tour in Brighton was won by Paul Foltyn, he took the main event ahead of the 160 field to take home with him £46,400 first prize.

Folytn is a poker pro from Doncaster and has featured in a number of high stakes tournaments and MTT specialist competitions achieving good results both at live events and online. Alongside his £1.2 million in online poker winnings using the moniker “Badpap,” he has also accumulated over £330,000 playing at live poker tournaments.

Paul, like any long term poker player is used to the stress and strain of poker, with its ups and downs and recently commented on his blog that he was so frustrated with poker at the minute and that even the smallest of things were sending him into a rage at the computer screen.

His frustrations now seem to have been firmly put behind him after he decided to take a few days off to clear his head. Foltyn’s bankroll has now been substantially bolstered by the addition of his GUKPT winnings from Brighton and proved to everyone, including himself that he has what it takes to win at poker.

The final table at Brighton included Jose Azoriin, Paul Romain, Mark James, John Eames, Damien Evans Jenyue Chaing, Manuel Palanca, Michalis Michael and Lee Taylor. The head to head came against Jose Azoriin, over who Foltyn had a 4/1 chip lead and Azoriin was not able to make a come back, the end came preflop when Azoriin tried his Q,T against Foltyn’s Q.J. This is his second title along with the 2008 Grand Final of the GUKPT.
