Poker For the New Year
As the New Year approaches and everyone is looking for the next big live tournaments, where are the first Poker events of the year being held.
Probably the premier New Year poker tournament has to be PokerStar’s Caribbean Adventure (PCA). This has to be the must try event in the middle of the winter. A gorgeous sun kissed ten days of poker in the Bahamas at the Atlantis Casino Resort, million-dollar prize. The PCA is a great mixture of Hold’em and Omaha, bounty, shootout and turbo events with a wide range of buy-ins giving everyone a chance to join in the fun from the 8th January.
Another of the exotic poker tours early in the year is the APT Asian Series in Cebu, starting on January 10th this week long tournament at the Waterfront Hotel has a mixture of Hold’em variants featuring 7 handed, head hunter and freezeout events.
The start of the WSOP tours kicks of at the circuit event at Chcotaw at the Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. They will be hosting a mammoth event running from the 6th – 23rd January with a wide selection of formats, affordable buy-ins and the $1,500 main event.
The first of the UK poker championships of the New Year is the Sky Poker Tour’s second leg in Newcastle at the Aspers Casino on the 8th January.
