PokerStars to Limit Chinese Players at Online Events
PokerStars, the industry leaders in online poker gaming have announced their intention to limit the number of players from China to one per single ring game table. This is a new security feature and follows fears that Chinese players are working in collusion during games.
The Isle of Man based poker company has said that it intends to only allow one player from certain countries to compete at particular gaming tables. PokerStars are reportedly taking this dramatic measure, as they are afraid of becoming the victims of collusion between Chinese online poker players.
This is not the first time the company have singled out Chinese players for special consideration, in August the uncovering of dodgy dealings by Chinese players at many sit and go events led to a similar ban along with their very popular Double or Nothing games.
At this time uncovering the conspiracy between Chinese players meant the company were forced to pay out a $2.1 million compensation to those affected and wishes to avoid the same scam catching them out again.
The company issued an email message to all Chinese based players informing them that in future if they try to join a ring game table where there is already a player from China present they will not be able to enter the game. A statement issued reads, “We regret the inconvenience that this has caused you but this policy has been implemented to enhance the integrity of the games.”
