If you fancy placing a bet whilst watching the Olympics, organisers for the 2012 games in London are set to announce the price of tickets for lucky punters wishing to attend the events. They are already hinting that their promise to keep prices as low as £15 to enable low-income families a chance to join in may not now materialise. Soaring costs and the removal of some sports mean they may now have to break their promise.

So far more than 1.4 million people have registered their interest in seeing the Olympics and tickets are due to go on sale from early 2011. Over the duration of the games in excess of 8 million tickets will be sold covering everything from the opening and closing ceremonies to the preliminary events and qualifying rounds.

The organisers did say that there would be many £15 tickets on sale and that over half the prices would be under £30, it is however imagined that these cheaper tickets will be fore low profile and unpopular events.

There is expected to be a much higher price placed on certain well attended of the 26 events at the games, which will enable the organisers to reduce the prices comparatively for the events where traditionally there is less interest.

Paul Deighton, Chief executive said that there would be an entry level price for many events and that there were also a number of sports that would feature around the streets of London and be free to view.
