Bookmakers Back the Gunners

Bookmakers are now making Arsenal outright favourites to win the Carling Cup this season after last weeks 4-0 trashing of Newcastle away at St James’ Park. Favourable odds on Arsenal are being given to sports bet fans and along with Manchester United who are also considered good money to lift the trophy in February.

Arsenal are looking to end their five year silverware drought by taking the cup this year and their victory over Newcastle proves they have the killer instinct to finish teams off. Arsene Wenger has dropped his usual policy of selecting young sides for the Carling Cup is a clear indication that he is serious about bringing the trophy home to the Emirates Stadium this season.

With Theo Walcott and Nicholas Bendtner both looking fully fit again as they fight to claim their spots in the team after recent injuries.
