Poker giant Full Tilt has signed up Olympic Gold medal boxing champion, Audley Harrison as one of their sponsored poker pros and to promote the brand.

The 36 year old, British boxer has said that he hopes to take the poker world by storm once his boxing career finishes. He currently lives in the United States and has recently won over £125,000 at the tables in Las Vegas.

Harrison as part of the deal with Full Tilt will have their logo emblazoned across his trunks and dressing gown during his remaining professional fights, including his big chance against David Haye on the 13th November in Manchester.

Harrison said “I was living in America and found it good that I could just play and learn the game, nobody knew who I was and did not have the pressure of people in England knowing I played.” Saying that his career was that of a professional boxer and he considered himself a semi pro poker player. Harrison did not want the media to get the two mixed up, so he kept his poker playing under wraps until the time was right.

He said he is ready to compete with any of the pros, “I know most of their styles and believe I can hold my own.” Harrison also feels that the skills in the boxing ring of having to read your opponent will come in handy. He can read players and mixes up his poker strategy

Should his poker take off he will join the ranks of other sports personalities in the game such as Boris Becker and Teddy Sherringham who are both respected players on the circuit.
