Scotland Up Against the Six Nations Odds

The start of rugby’s Six Nations Championship is just around the corner and with less than two weeks before it all kicks off again the Scottish side are facing an uphill struggle. Bookmakers only give them a chance of beating the six nations whipping boys Italy during the 2011 tournament, with the Scots get off to a difficult start facing a strong French side on the 5th February.

Wales are given odds by the bookies of winning two or three of their matches and there are few who would bet on the Welsh side failing to win a match this time around. There are better betting odds being given on them winning the championship at 14/1, than loosing outright at 22/1.

The Dragons boys are looking better odds on taking the day on two occasions at 8/15 and cleaning out opposition three times at 11/4.

Scotland on the other hand are 16/1 to win the championship title and 66/1 to take home the much coveted Grand Slam. The Scots are just behind Italy at 4/1 to take the wooden spoon and an ever-improving Italian side are still the favourites to struggle with 1/3 odds.

England are the overall favourites to win the championship outright at 2/1 with France second best betting option at 13/5. The Irish are give a 7/2 chance that 2011 is their year but with this being the Six Nations anything can happen on the day and passion always plays a key factor.
