With It Be Czech Mate for the Scots

Fridays round of Euro 2012 qualifiers see Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland involved in crucial matches. The Scots seem to have the most difficult task and being in the same group as the World and European Champions, Spain means that second place is probably their best shot.

They have four points from two outings so far and have the Czechs to face this time around. Scotland will be hoping that Czech Republic’s troubled times continues, as they failed to qualify for the World Cup finishing behind Slovenia and Slovakia in their group 3 games. They also had a bad start to the Euro 2012 loosing out to 1-0 Lithuania at home.

This will provide Scotland with a good chance to establish themselves as sure contenders for the second place slot in the group if they can get a victory over the Czech Republic. They are currently sitting at 9/2 favourites in the bookmaker’s odds with a draw coming in at 3/1.

Wales made a very poor start, loosing 1-0 against Montenegro, this time they have Bulgaria and both sides have points to make in their meeting if they are to stand any chance of making the finals. Even with changes in management for Wales, you would have to fancy them to take a home win this time around and the bookies odds of 13/8 certainly reflect this.

Meanwhile the Irish did the necessary in their openers but have a different proposition with Russia, betting puts them safe though at 17/10 to win. Northern Ireland are also given a good chance against the out of sorts Italians with odds of 9/2
