There are many hold’em poker variations that are played around the world. Some of the most popular include Texas hold’em which is the main branch of hold’em poker, Omaha and crazy pineapple but these are far from the only variants.

Crazy pineapple hold’em has the same basic rules as regular Texas hold’em; the highest hand wins. Players can use one, neither or both of the hole cards to make the best hand and the ace plays high and low for all straights. The deal and play both go clockwise from the dealer in this hold’em poker variation.

Irish hold’em poker also has the highest hand being the winner, and the ace again is played high or low for straights and play always goes clockwise from the dealer. Manilla hold’em poker is played with a stripped or 20 card deck and has the same rules as Irish hold’em poker. Omaha high requires a player to use two hole cards with three from their board to make the highest and lowest hands of the game. Any 2 of the 4 cards can be used for high or low hands, and the ace is both high and low, with a three raise limit for each round.

Omaha high low hold’em poker requires highest hand splitting the pot with the lowest hand, and the use of two hole cards with three from the board for the lowest or highest hands. Any 2 of the four cards are to be used for the high and low hands and in order to qualify for the low half of any pot, the low must be 8 or lower and the ace can be used as 1 or 11. Pineapple hold’em poker has the highest hand as the winner with players using any or none of their hole cards to make the highest hand and the ace can be used as 1 or 11.

Pyramid is simple with the highest hand winning and following all regular hold’em poker rules including the players going in clockwise motion from the dealer and the ace being used as 1 or 11. Super 8 has the highest hand winning and players can use any or none of the hole cards to make the highest hand. Again the ace is used as 1 or 11 and all players go clockwise from the dealer.

Tahoe requires the highest hand to win in the game, and players can use all or none of the hole cards to make the hand. The ace can be used as a 1 or 11 for straights and all players go in clockwise motions from the dealer for game play. Texas hold’em poker or the granddaddy of all hold’em poker games requires the highest hand to win. Also players can use any or none of the hole cards to make the hand and the ace is used as a 1 or 11 for straights. As always, the players go in a clockwise motion from the dealer’s position in the game.
